What's happening during the Salcombe Town Regatta?

Posted by thewinkingprawn on July 21, 2016

You know it’s summer in Salcombe when the Town Regatta rolls around. From sandcastle competitions to the harbour swim, it’s all an opportunity for salty seaside fun.

At the Winking Prawn, Sailor V and Island Street Bar & Grill we love this time of year, welcoming back customers on their summer holidays and staff returning from studies, travels and university for the height of the season, especially with so many members of the team having worked with us for so long!

Regatta Fireworks

We’ve brought a little more chic to our shabby just in time for for the Regatta at The Winking Prawn, with new tables and chairs (thanks to those who rehomed our well loved ones the other week) ready for dinners by the beach.  Don’t forget to book, especially if you fancy popping in before the Regatta fireworks at 10pm on 4th August!  You can even book online now!

Island Street Street Party

At Island Street the new cocktail menu has been sufficiently well sampled and is ready and waiting for celebrations at the Island Street street party from midday on 31st July.  The party goes on until 6pm with pavement drawing, face painting, ice cream eating, a bouncy castle, music, food and entertainment.  Then of course it’s business as usual at our seafront bar – we can’t wait!

Regatta Harbour Swim

Then, at Sailor V, the team are ready and waiting to welcome in spectators and victorious swimmers with coffee and cake after the harbour swim at 7am on 4th August.  Don’t forget to register on 3rd at the Regatta stand in Whitestrand car park to get a wristband (safety first boys and girls) – first come first served, so make sure you get there early!

Of course there’s lots more going on and we’re looking forward to the lot – in fact we’re off to pick up our Regatta programmes from Cranch’s Sweetshop now!

See you there!
